Details
SU 90NE SLINDON TOP ROAD 8/307B (south side) 5.6.58 Tower in the grounds of Slindon House to the north west of the house and wall adjoining this on the north II This is all that remains of the medieval palace of the Archbishops of Canterbury. Square tower of C15 date. The lower portion is of sandstone ashlar. The upper portion, which was probably added later, is faced with flints with red brick quoins. Modern brick castellated parapet. Pointed casement windows on south side. Three storeys. One window. To the north of this tower an C18 flint wall joins the Tower to the Lodge of the house.
