11/178 Bridge between Upper and 11.10.73 Middle Ponds

Bridge. Later C19, thought to have been supplied by Clayton and Shuttleworth of Lincoln, the firm from which the garden's later owners, the Shuttleworths, derived their wealth. Mixture of cast and wrought iron. Of fairly simple design, this small hump-backed bridge has metal trelliswork panels below handrail, with roses at intersections, and octagonal newel posts with simple finials.
