Uniform pair of terrace houses. c.1732 by John Meard built at junction of earlier western part of Meard Street. Stock brick with red brick dressings, slate roof. 3 storeys, basements and dormered mansards. Each front 3 windows wide (narrower than Nos. 1 to 7, odd). Paired architraved doorways with same carved consoles to cornice as those of Nos. 1 to 7 but that of No. 9 altered with insertion of mid C19 shop front with console stops to fascia. Flush framed sashes with later C19 glazing in red brick dressings under flat gauged red brick arches, the left hand windows blind on No. 9. Parapet with stone coping. Brick plat band over 1st floor window arches. Wrought iron area railings with urn finials. Interiors fully panelled (apart from shop) on mirror plan with closet wings, passage-halls and dog leg staircases; Doric pilastered opening from passage to stairs, which have cut and shaped strings and Doric turned balusters and newels, box cornices etc. See also the contemporary Nos. 67 to. 70 Dean Street by Meard.
