GV II

Cottage. Probably C17. Rendered timber frame with slate roof. 2 framed bays. External brick end stack to west and rendered integral end stack to east. One storey and gable-lit attic. Framing: square panels. South front: segmental-headed late C19 wooden cross-window to right and probably early C20 wooden casement to left flanking pair of boarded doors, that to right with segmental head. North front with small square window off-centre to left. Interior: central collar and tie-beam truss (tie-beam cut through at later date); roof with single purlins and windbraces; central framed partition with wattle and daub panels; first floor rests on chamfered plates attached to the frame (possible later insertion); chamfered and ogee-stopped beams; chamfered jamb to doorway in cross-wall; large open fireplace, and small late C19 grate upstairs; newel staircase adjoining stack in north- east corner.
