Church. C14 and earlier, comprising west tower, nave, south aisle and chancel, all of rubble and flint
with some Roman brick and with stone trim. Tower has western angle buttresses with 4 off-sets
beneath first floor, then 2 stages with trefoiled lancets, labelled, and red brick pinnacles. South wall
of aisle has angle buttresses and 3 wall buttresses and four 2-light cinquefoil windows beneath head
stopped labels. Roofs ridged, gabled and peg-tiled, chancel with a finial cross at east apex. South
chancel wall has a priest's door and 2 C14 trefoiled windows with quatrefoiled 'eyes' and labels. East
window 3 lights cinquefoiled with head-stops to label and Y-tracery bars. Some indurated
conglomerate. Nave north wall has a Y window (circa 1300) 2 cinquefoil, then a C20 timber porch.
South doorway of2 orders, each with sunk-chamfers circa 1320/40 and head-stopped label. South
arcade of 6 bays, piers having scroll-moulded capitals. Nave roof of 7 cants and double collars. North
nave windows have internal fillets and rolls to tracery-barn. Bench ends with poppy heads, 2 with
angels. early dug-out chest and later C13 chest in vestry. Monument on south wall to Margaret
Maude dated 1853 by Manning. Cast iron inscription plate in south porch.
