Former school, now village hall. Circa 1865. Local lias stone cut and squared, Ham stone dressings; bands of plain and scalloped clay tiles between stepped coped gables having fleurs-de-lys finials; ornamental clay tile ridge. Single storey; 3 bays, of which bay 2 is a projecting porch. Plinth, pairs lancet windows with shared labels, with gables over, to outer bays; to bay 2 matching gabled porch with side buttresses, chamfered pointed- arched doorway with label, and above a stone plaque inscribed "Church of England School". In north and south gables are triple lancets with shared labels, and trefoil gable vents over. Sundry outbuildings to rear. Interior not seen. Presumably the building erected for the day school founded by the vicar of Martock in 1865, which later became a National Voluntary School, and which closed in 1962. (VCH, Vol IV, 1978).
