1. QUAY STREET (South Side) No 6 (Quay House) TM 3877 1/59 21.10.49.

2. Early C18 with alterations. Ground floor now 3 ft below road, upon which it closely abuts. 2-storey, painted brick front wall carried up as parapet in front of older roof. Centre portion breaks forward 4 1/2 ins with double ogee curved bay at each side. Brick corbelled cornice with centre pediment. Central bull's eye in place of original square window, 3-light sash windows with glazing bars and slightly cambered flat arches built on curve. 8-panel door, panelled reveals, arched radial-bar fanlight, wood case with reeded pilasters and open dentil and bracket pediment. A marble original Adam mantel has been installed. Wing to left, 1 storey and attic, 3 dormers, pantile roof, brick, painted. 2 small casement windows at ground floor, now half-basement.

Nos 6 to 8 (consec) form a group.
