Detached house. C17 origins, modified in C19. Local grey lias stone cut and squared. Ham stone dressings; double Roman clay tile roof between coped gables; brick chimney stacks. Two storeys, 2 bays irregular fenestration. Hollow-chamfer mullioned windows of 3 lights in plain recesses, without labels, diamond leaded; left of bay 2 a 6-panel door in recess with fielded panelling and plain timber architrave. North gable suggests that roof has been raised; lean-to extension at rear. Interior not seen, but reported and illustrated a 2-room cross-passage plan, collar trusses. (SSAVBRG Report on house, SRO Unpublished, July, 1981; also Somerset Villages - Long Load and Knole, Long Sutton, SSAVBRG 1982).
