5/95 Pigeoncote and attached stable, outbuildings and wall at Markham Moor House

Pigeoncote, stable, outbuildings and wall. Mid C18 and C19. Painted brick, pantile roofs. C18 2 storey plus garret single bay pigeoncote with single storey 3 bay C18 stable block to the left and further left lower single storey 10 bay outbuildings, part now converted to domestic use. Pigeoncote has raised, brick coped gables and tumbled brick work. Dogtooth eaves and first floor band. Set on a plinth. Single wooden slatted opening with glazing bar overlight under a segmental arch, with a single similar opening above and in each garret a single blocked round opening. To the left the stable block has a central doorway with ashlar lock and hinge blocks and stable door flanked by single wooden slatted openings with glazing bar overlights, all under segmental arches. To the left the outbuildings have from right to left a doorway with stable door, a single tripartite glazing bar casement, a doorway with plank door, a single wooden slatted opening, a doorway with plank door, a single glazing bar casement, a doorway with C20 door, a single small fixed light, a doorway with C20 door, a single small fixed light, a doorway with C20 door, a single C20 casement. Projecting from this wing is a painted brick wall with shaped brick coping and 3 ashlar coped piers. This extends for 7 metres north. Projecting from the right of the pigeoncote is a C20 brick and pantile garage. To the rear are further outbuildings not included in the listing. Interior of stable has stalls with twisted iron posts with decorative finials.
