5/96 Markham Moor House 1.2.67 G.V. II

House and attached wall. Late C18 with C19 alterations and C20 additions. Red brick. Hipped pantile roof. 2 outer red brick stacks. Dentil eaves. Two and a half storeys, 3 bays. Central doorway with panelled door and traceried overlight set into a wooden reveal surmounted by a wooden pediment with fluted and dentil frieze. Either side are single C19 canted bays, rendered at the base and with simplified entablatures. Above are 3 glazing bar sashes under segmental arches with 3 similar, smaller sashes under segmental arches on the top floor. To the left, slightly set back and set on a plinth is the C20 red brick, 2 storey, 2 bay wing with hipped pantile roof, single red brick stack to the rear left and raised eaves band. Projecting bay with single 4 light casement. Above are 2 cross casements. To the rear is a lower painted brick and pantile 2 storey wing of an earlier build. Attached to the right and set back is the red brick wall of a lean-to. The wall drops down to an ashlar coped red brick wall and curves northwards, with 2 further drops, for 18 metres.
