5.2.70 Nos 165 to 169 consecutive (Asprey's) GV II

Originally terrace houses. Late C18 with late C19 alteration to shop and commercial premises. Brown brick, slate roofs. Four storeys, the top floor rebuilt. Whole of ground and wing into first floor occupied by late C19 plate glass shop windows with splayed risers articulated by slender decorated and fluted cast iron columns carrying arched heads, surmounted by fascia with decorative cast iron cresting. Upper floors of 3 window bays each retain revealed glazing bar sashes under flat red brick gauged arches. Bracketed cornice carried across range at third floor level. No 15A Grafton Street q.v. forms a flank continuation of similar design. Interior shop fittings principally of the early C20.
