GV II
Terrace row with shops. c. 1850- 1860. Stuccoed, slate roofs. Bold Italianate detailing. 4 storeys finished off with heavy modillion cornice and balustraded parapet in front of dormered mansards. Three windows to each front grouped as a tripartite bay. The ground floor shop fronts, under continuous entablature, altered mid to later C20. Engaged Ionic columns flank and divide the 1st floor sash windows with entablature over; 2nd floor windows in architrave surrounds with segmental pediment over centre window and with pierced balustrade embracing all three. Included for group interest as lively Italianate commercial design.
