BURFORD AND UPTON HIGH STREET AND SIGNET (West side) SP2512 (Enlargement) No 164 (The Old Court) 7/160 and railings in front
GV II
Former police station, now domestic. 1869. Architect William Wilkinson Rough-faced coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. Tiled roof, end chimneys in rough-faced rubble. Wilt in a version of Tudor vernacular. 2 storeys, string over ground floor raised over central rebated Tudor inch doorway, panel over painted out. 3 windows, plate-glass sashes with chamfered mullions, tall 2-light windows on 1st floor (to former courtroom), 3-light on ground floor. Front railings with flat tops on stepped boundary wall. Interior largely altered. Included for group value.
