TQ 3080 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER NEW ROW, WC2 72/68 (south side) 15.1.73 Nos. 4 and 5 G.V. II Terrace houses with shops. Late C.17 origin, mid C.20 rebuilt fronts. Brown brick with red brick dressings, slate roofs. 4 storeys and setback penthouse attic. Each 3 windows wide. Ground floor has later C.20 shop fronts. Upper floors have flush framed glazing bar sashes under flat gauged red brick arches. Brick plat bands. Parapet with coping. Included for group interest in this street laid out in the 1630s as part of the Bedford Estate development of Covent Garden. Survey of London; Vol. XX.
