TQ 2781 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER WYNDHAM PLACE, Wl 43/65 Nos. 7 and 7A (Including 5.2.70 No. 37A Crawford Street) G.V. II Pair of terraced houses. c.1811-23, as part of J.T. Parkinson's Bryanston Square Portman Estate development. Stock brick with channelled stucco ground floor; concealed slate roofs. 4 storeys and basement. 2-window wide fronts, No. 7A with return to Crawford Street with shop front and 1 window to upper floors. Adjacent semicircular arched doorways; panelled doors in pilaster jambs, those of No. 7A fluted with lion's head stops, fanlights. Recessed sashes, glazing bars intact to No. 7, under flat gauged arches to upper floors. Stuccowork finished off with plat band. Parapet with stone coping. Delicately patterned cast iron balconies to 1st floor. Cast iron area railings with urn finials. The return of No. 7A has plain Victorian shop front (No. 37A Crawford Street) with fascia flanked by brackets. Nos. 7 and 7A form part of the formal setting of St. Mary's Church Wyndham Place q.v.
