BURFORD AND UPTON UPTON AND SIGNET SP2412-2512 Rose and Crown Cottage and Crown Cottage 5/214 (previously listed as listed as 12.9.55 The Old Rose and Crown Old Rose and Crown Cottage).

GV II

Cottage, former inn. c.1700, altered and modernized. Rubble with Cotswold stone roof. Roughly L-plan. 2 storeys. West front has taller bay to left with C20 mullion windows and lower bay to right with glazed door to ground floor. East front has large buttress to left projecting part with a single-light window in moulded surround above it. C20 door in right-hand part, to left a small chamfered opening with heraldic carving and date 1660, above a gabled dormer. C20 single-storey wing to East. Apex of South gable contains sundial date 1697. Interior: ground floor South room has corner fire-place.
