LOWER HEYFORD SP42SE 5/41 Coldharbour barn and attached farmbuilding - II
Barn and shelter shed. Late C17/early C18. Limestone rubble with wooden lintels; corrugated-iron roofs. Barn has a 5-bay plan with central opposed full-height doors; other bays have slits and square vents, and there are triangular vents in the gables. 5-bay shed returns southwards forming an L-shaped group with the barn; 4 bays are open fronted, with wooden posts and added braces, and there is a loft door in the gable. Interiors: Barn trusses have tie beams, collars, and they carry 2 rows of butt purlins with through tenons, plus a ridge piece resting on saddles. Shed has a roof of similar construction.
