MARBURY CUM QUOISLEY C.P. (Off) HOLLINS LANE SJ 54 NE 2/61 Old Farmhouse at Marbury - Hall

GV II Farmhouse: C17 with substantial C19 additions and alterations. Timber framed with brick infill. Red Flemish bond brick with a plain tile roof. Two storeys. Entrance front: originally timber framed but largely re-faced in the C19. Projecting gabled bay at left of centre with a basket-arched opening to the ground floor level now partially blocked and containing a 3-light casement window. To the first floor above this a further basket-arched opening. The left hand flank of the wing has 3 x 4 cells of timber framing and to left of this wing is a recessed bay with a doorway at right set in timber framed walling and having a C17 plank door with one surviving strap hinge and a C19 lean-to porch in front. At left is a C19 cambered leaded window of 3 casement lights. To the first floor above it is a timbered C17 gabled dormer window now containing a C19 3-light cambered-headed casement window. To the first floor are two 3-light gabled dormer windows with C17 timber surrounds. The roofing over the right hand portion is of slate. Ridge chimney stacks at right and left of centre. The rear has, at right, a projecting gabled wing with a 2-light and a 3-light C19 casement window. To the first floor is a basket arched window surround now partially blocked and having at right a 2-light C19 casement window. To the left of this is a recessed portion with a ground floor doorway. To the first floor above is a C17 timber-framed 3-light gabled dormer window. At right of the projecting gabled wing is a further recessed portion with two C19 ground-floor doorways and one first floor dormer window of C17 date with timber surround and a blocked window opening.
