SOMERTON HEYFORD ROAD SP42NE (West side) 2/88 Jersey Manor Farmhouse - II
Farmhouse. Early/mid C17, C18 and C19. Limestone rubble with some wooden lintels and some squared marlstone quoins; Stonesfield-slate roofs with brick gable stacks. 3-unit plan extended to Z-shaped plan. 2 storeys plus attic and 2 storeys. 3-window front of main range has 12-pane sashes at first floor, all with wooden lintels, and at ground floor has a doorway, a 2-light casement (probably formerly an entrance) and a 12-pane sash, all with segmental arches. A lower service wing extends to right and returns to the front with an external stair against the front gable wall. A further C18 wing returns to rear from the left and has a C19 extension. Both wings have some C18 casements. Interior: Stop-chamfered beans, some intersecting, with some heavy joists; altered spiral stair beside large chimney breast; butt-purlin roof.
