Details

TQ 2880 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER PARK LANE, Wl 68/61 (east side) 24-2.58 No. 94 G.V. II Terraced town house. Rebuild of 1823-25 by Samuel Baxter, builder. Stuccoed with slate roof. 5 storeys, basement and dormered mansard. Narrow 2-bay front. Entrance to left with 6-panel door and plain rectangular fanlight. The front is taken up by slightly off centre bow of one broad tripartite window per floor, architrave surrounds to sashes. Good 1st floor cast iron tent roof verandah-balcony with pattern work to spandrels. The bow is finished off with a cornice over 3rd floor and forms a terrace with low domed ironwork verandah over 4th floor window. Crowning cornice and plain parapet surmounted by stucco balustrade in front of the 2 dormers of the later heightened attic. Spearhead area railings. Interior largely redecorated in French taste in 1900 by Charles Mallier and Co. though a few elements of Baxter's cornices, friezes etc. remain. Survey of London, Vol. XL.
