II
Farmhouse, front garden wall and gate. Circa early C19 rebuild retaining parts of an earlier house. Stuccoed front, otherwise painted rubble walls, slate sills. Scantle slate roof half hipped to right with 2 brick chimney over cross wall. Original plan probably 3 rooms with through passage; the lower end and part of the original hall remodelled and partly rebuilt circa early C19 as double depth house, 2 rooms wide with central cross passage leading to central stair; the higher end of the house remodelled as an attached cottage, the fronts of the house and the cottage facing opposite directions. The original lower end, right, is the present kitchen living room, with back kitchen behind and the parlour on the left of the passage. 2 storeys. Overall 4- window front with rear of cottage, left, and nearly symmetrical 3-window front of the house, right. Doorway of house central to fenestration, C20 door, original 12-pane hornless sashes. The rear also has its original sashes except for a later sash in one ground floor opening. Interior not inspected. Garden wall adjoins the right hand side of the house and has 2 round headed granite monolith gate piers and wrought iron gate. It is said that the remodelling of the house took place following a fire in the early C19. There have been few alterations since then.
