13/75 The Terrace Cottage, approx 140 metres to south-west of Harewood House.
GV II
Former brew-house for Harewood House, converted to estate manager's house c1950, now house. Mid-late C18 with mid-C20 additions not of special interest. Ashlar, Westmorland green-slate roof. Irregular plan. 2-storey block providing a single room with single-storey wing attached to the south-west angle. Main block, fronting driveway to stables from Harewood House: deep plinth. Large central tripartite sash window with stone mullions each with recessed panel, casement-moulded triangular pediment. Casement-moulded eaves cornice. Hipped roof without stack. Left-hand return wall has plinth (with bench-mark) and doorway with overlight in eared architrave; 9-pane sash window with projecting sill above. Attached to left corner, at an oblique angle, wing has 12-pane sash window in eared architrave and roof with hip to left. Attached to rear C20 extension in keeping.
