5/194A Gates and Gatepiers to Pampisford Hall
II
Gates and gatepiers. c1880, probably designed by G. Goldie for Wm Parker Hammond. Red brick with ashlar dressings. Chamfered plinth. A pair of square gatepiers with 3 chamfered ashlar bands and a central upright to each face. Above a square ashlar top with a roundel and projecting boar's head, and each pier finished by a pyramidal top with a finial. Either side are curved brick walls with chamfered ashlar coping, terminated by similar but shorter gatepiers. The wall continues to the right with door and a final pier. Between the central piers a pair of ornate iron gates in the Baroque style.
