Forge-house and attached archway. Mid C18. By John Carr for Edwin Lascelles; 1st Lord Harewood: Punch-dressed stone, stone slate roof. Single storey. 2 doorways to right end and larger full-height doorway to left end with 5 large multi-paned windows between. Wooden eaves band. Hipped roof. Rear has flue-box to left end and 2 square windows (blocked) with plain-stone surrounds. Central lateral stack. Left-hand return has 3-light flat-faced mullioned window to left of attached archway. Archway on left: segmental arch with flat projecting coping and inner rebate for gates.
Interior: large open room with 3 well-constructed forges.
