Former chapel, cottages and bothy for woodsmen of the Harewood Estate, now 4 houses. Mid-late C18 by John Carr for Edwin Lascelles, 1st Lord Harewood. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys and attics to wings. 8-bay symmetrical facade. Outer 2 bays taller wings which break forward slightly. Ashlar plinth, 1st-floor band, eaves band continued as impost band on wings. Outer bays have doorways with monolithic lintels to one side of window. Above, 2 semicircular-arched recesses have flat-arched windows with voussoirs and segment-headed windows to attic set in archway. Central 4 bays have 2 doorways flanking 2 windows with 4 windows above, all with monolithic lintels cut with false voussoirs. Most windows have altered glazing,though 2 Yorkshire sashes survive to 1st floor of No 4. Central ridge stack. Wings have hipped roofs with ridge stacks. Part of Carr's original model village.
