Formerly Macdonald's Music Hall.
1863. Perhaps altered in 1868.
A rare example of an early music hall with a small, high stage and 2 tiers of iron-railed
galleries on 3 sides, supported on cast iron columns. The front elevation, to
Wilks Place, is of yellow brick and stucco, 3 storeys high and 3 windows wide with
an addition to the west. The ground storey is rusticated with 3 blocked openings,
the middle one having a dated keystone. The lst floor band is inscribed 'Hoxton
Hall' and the centrel (blind) window opening has a segmental pediment on brackets.
2 pilasters run up through a 2nd storey sill-band to a cornice and incomplete pediment.
Glazing altered.
