GV II

Manor house. C18, enlarged and reshaped 1825. Ham stone ashlar; hipped Welsh slate roof, with wide bracketed eaves soffit; stone chimney stacks. Two storeys with attic, 3 bay west roadside elevation. Sash windows in architraves. 12-pane above and 16-pane below. North entrance elevation of 3 bays irregular fenestration: lower bay. 1 has a 3-light plain mullioned window in architrave, rectangular leaded; bay 2 has 16-pane sash window below, then a 12-pane sash and 3-pane attic casement above; bay 3 has a 16-pane sash over a projecting flat roofed stone enclosed porch having plain angle pilasters, slim semi-circular arched sidelights, and a semi-circular arched doorway with inmost blocks and keystoned arch architrave, framing a pair of 3-panelled doors under a 3-unit fanlight. Interior not seen. (VCH, Vol III, l974).
