TQ 2979 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER QUEEN ANNE'S GATE, SWl 91/21 No 2 24.2.58 G.V. II End of terrace town house. C1825-30. Stucco facade, slate roof. Main front to St James's Park but with entrance front on to Old Queen Street by Cockpit Steps. 4 storeys and dormered mansard, the basement exposed as lower ground floor to Park front. Entrance front 4 windows wide, Park front 5 windows wide. Shallow enclosed stuccoed Doric pilastered porch with entablature in 2nd bay from left. Recessed glazing bar sashes. Entablature over ground floor; 1st floor pseudo-parapet with coping as sill course; crowning cornice and blocking course. Cast iron plumbed spike area railings. The St James's Park front has centre break with canted bay to basement and ground floor, 3-window bow to 1st floor, the 2nd and 3rd floors of break flanked by pairs of quoin pilasters and a deeply moulded pediment overall containing lunette window. Recessed glazing bar sashes. Balustraded balcony across ground floor; delicate cast iron shallow 'S'pattern balcony over bow and slender cast iron columns supporting similarly patterned balcony in front of 3rd floor window.
