TQ 2881 NE and SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER QUEEN ANNE STREET, Wl 45/125 (north side) No 58 5.2.70 G.V. II Terraced town house. 1760s (altered c1840-50) Portland Estate development. Stock brick with channelled stucco ground floor; slate roof. 4 storeys (including attic storey) on basement. 3 windows wide. Semicircular arched doorway to left with keystone; later C19 door, side lights and fanlight with wrought iron grilles. Recessed glazing bar sashes, with keystones on ground floor and architraves on upper floors, the 1st floor with consoled pediments, the 2nd floor architraves eared and the attic storey windows segmental headed with curved cornices. Plat band over ground floor stuccowork; painted stone bracketed cornice over 2nd floor; parapet with coping. 1st floor has early C19 balcony with anthemion patterned rails. Wrought iron area railings with flambé urn finials. Some original interior plasterwork and geometrical staircase with wrought iron balustrade, chimneypieces; etc. GLC plaque commemorating residence here in 1851 of Hector Berlioz.
