NEWSTEAD NEWSTEAD PARK SK 55 SW 1/110 Garden walls, seats and tunnel to east of Newstead Abbey G.V. II
Garden walls. Early C18 and early C20. Coursed and squared rubble. Ashlar dressings. Buttressed walls have ramped slab copings. C plan. North west corner has moulded semi-circular seat and adjoining balustrade, early C20. North terrace wall has lower ramped central section with ball finials. To left, pair of wrought iron gates with square piers and ball finials. North east corner has view stopper with ramped crenellated parapet, remains of central crest, and a pair of pierced obelisk finials. South wall has 2 square piers, central tunnel with keystoned semi-circular head, and off-centre moulded stone seat. South east corner has on each side a pair of wrought iron gates with square piers and pierced obelisk finials.
