TQ 2980 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER REGENT STREET Wl 70/92 (east side) 22-11-73 No 106 to 130 (even) (including Nos 41 to 49 consec. Warwick Street) GV II Block of offices and shops. c. 1911 by H. Tanner but not completed until 1928. Portland stone facing, slate roof. Neo-Classical Beaux Arts style. 4 main storeys, attics and dormers in steep mansard. Podium ground floor with mezzanine, shop fronts articulated by pilasters. Upper floors with advanced 3 bay flanking pavilions and 5 bay central one; coupled windows to intervening blocks; all windows architraved with linked cornices on 1st floor and the 2nd floor windows of central pavilion with segmental pediments. The 2nd and 3rd floors are articulated by a giant order of Ionic pilasters on the intervening blocks carrying a continuous entablature and with garlanded plaques held by putti below their bases at 1st floor level. Attic with balustraded balcony. The central windows on pavilions carried up with pediments, segmental to the outer pavilions and triangular to the centre. The parapets of pavilion attics have urn terminals. Splayed corner to the block and similar return elevations. Continuous cast iron balcony to 1st floor. The roof has lead ornamental crestings to ridges, prominent stacks.
