TG 41 SE FILBY OLD YARMOUTH ROAD (south side)
4/7 Filby House (formerly 20.2.52 listed as Filby House and b arn) II G.V. House. Mid C18 with additions 1833. Brick. Black glazed pantiles to north side, slate to south. North facade of 2 storeys and dormer attic in 7 bays. Central panelled door of 1833 in panelled reveals. Doorcase of fluted Doric pilasters below Doric entablature. Sash windows within flush frames with glazing bars under segmental arches. Glazing bars to first floor windows are C18, remainder C19. Central first floor tripartite window 1833 under traceried basket arch. Modillion timber eaves cornice and gabled roof. 3 dormers with sashes with glazing bars. Central dormer pedimented, others segmentally pedimented. Internal gable end stack to east. Gable heads with tumbling. One bay, 2 storey, extension leads from west of facade into 1833 addition of one storey and dormer attic. 4 sash windows to ground floor with glazing bars. 2 pedimented dormers with sliding sashes. Gabled roof covered with concrete tiles. Central ridge stack. South facade re-faced 1833 with gault brick. 2 storeys in 7 bays, arranged 3-1-3. Central panelled door below traceried overlight. Timber doorcase and fluted reveals. Sash windows with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. Timber eaves cornice below gabled roof. Internal end stacks and central ridge stack. West wing extends for 4 bays. 2 storeys. C18 ground floor sash windows with glazing bars. C19 first floor sashes, also with glazing bars.
