19/95 No. 7 11.8.50 (Horsegate House)

House. Early C18 with C19 kitchen wing at rear. Narrow gault brick, painted, English bond, on stone rubble base. Some stone in rear walls. Steeply pitched roof, now covered with cement tiles and partly rebuilt symmetrical flush end stacks. Tumbled end parapets on kneelers. The wooden modillion eaves cornice is original. Front and rear ranges now forming a T-plan. Two storeys and attics. Two C19 gable dormers. Two storeys framed by pilasters, the heads forming the kneelers of the end parapet, and divided by plain three brick band. Window openings probably enlarged early C19. Two tripartite hung sashes on either side of one twelve pane hung sash. Two steps up to central doorway with early C19 Doric portico of stone, painted. Inside. Early C19 open-string staircase.
