GV II

Formerly farmhouse, now public house: early Cl7 with extension to rear dated 1848 and late C20 extensions. Brick nogged timber framing on stone plinth. Thatched roof and central brick chimney and gable chimney with an octagonal stack. 2-storey, 3-bay front. 10 by 2 and 3 irregular small frames. Central doorway and inserted doorway at left end. Windows are 3 or 4-light casements with glazing bars below, small metal casements above. East gable end has more regular timber framing and a queen post truss. C19 extension to rear has flat wedged gauged brick heads to casement windows. Interior: of 2 main rooms, with chamfered ceiling beams. Reset chamfered bressumer to inglenook in public bar which has a continuous bench around the wall. Small enclosed bar to rear.
