1/73 Theberton House
GV II*
House. C18 core, extensively altered 1830. Brick and stucco; slated roof.
2-storeys. 5 window range, 2:1:2; bays defined by twin pilasters, with tall
elliptical headed central entrance bay crowned by moulded ogee finial. Windows
early C20 casements with ornate curved glazing bars to top lights, moulded
architraves. Central bay with ellipitcal headed openings: doorway with twin
4-panel doors, the upper 3 panels glazed, fanlight with similar ornate glazing
bars; square decorative panel above first floor window. String course to outer
bays at upper first floor level. Heavy moulded cornice with stepped parapet
above. Quoin pilasters with ornate 4-faced semi-circular finials. Chimneys
with moulded caps; lantern to rear of roof. 2-storey servant's wing to rear.
Interior with fine ornate bronze staircase and some moulded plasterwork to
ground floor rooms.
