CROOK AND WILLINGTON A 689 NZ 13 SE (South side, off) 32/3 Beechburn Grange
GV II
House. C18 with early Cl9-alterations and large late C19 extension. White- painted render with painted ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof with stone gable copings and yellow brick chimneys; rear wing has pantiled roof with 2 rows of stone slates at eaves. L-plan. 2 storeys, 2 builds of 3 and 2 bays. Earlier 3-bay right part has central half- glazed door and patterned overlight under bracketed hood; flanking canted bay windows have late C19 sashes and hipped roofs; mullioned-and-transomed central first-floor window and flanking tripartite sashes in raised stone surrounds with small false keystones. Higher 2-bay left part has similar ground-floor canted bays and first-floor tripartite sashes. All 3 gables have curved stone kneelers and panelled ridge chimneys. Interior: L-plan stair, the lower flight projecting into hall, has ramped moulded handrail on stick balusters. 6-panelled doors; some window shutters.
