Farmhouse, now house. C17 or earlier origins, late C18 remodelling, C20
alterations. Whitewashed and roughcast with thatched roof, slate roof to outshut.
Projecting rendered stack at right gable end, projecting stack with brick shaft to
gable end of wing. Complex development. L plan. Main range originally single
depth, extended by wide outshut. Wing projects forward from front at left, date
of 1682 on chimneybreast in wing. Wing extended forward by single storey thatched
addition with roof hipped at end, addition in use as garage. 2 storeys. Main
range 2 windows wide with C20 front door under flat-roofed porch with modillion
frieze. Ground floor window left 2-light C20 casement. Ground floor window right
circular C18 hornless sash, 10 panes above 10 panes. Thatch eyebrowed over 2
similar first floor windows. Right return of wing has similar sash to first floor
and large 4-light C20 ground floor casements. Interior. Massive cross beams and
moulded axial beams. C20 fireplace in wing has plaster panel with ornamental
shell motif, may be re-used from C17 chimneypiece. Variety of floor levels
upstairs. Roofspace inaccessible at time of survey, 1984.
