MARINE PARADE 1. 1357 (North Side) No 1 (Alcove Café) SY 3492 1/169 II 2. Early C19 core with later additions. Shown in old photographs as a cottage of 2 storeys, 3 window bays. Present fenestration comprises from left to right hand, sash window on 1st floor; in 2nd bay, splayed bay window on 1st floor above a plain sash window on ground floor; doorway with coved and peaked canopy; half-glazed door; in 3rd bay, square bay window on both floors. A 3rd floor has been added above this with modern window openings. To right hand, 2 further window bays have been added; 2 sash windows without glazing bars on 1st floor and a 3-light modern casement on 2nd floor. Another later addition at left hand end has sash window on 1st floor, door and sash window on ground floor; 2nd floor has another splayed bay added.
