Details

HUNSTANWORTH RIVER DERWENT NY 95 SE 1/84 Blanchland Bridge, partly in County of Northumberland GV II

Bridge, probably mid C18. Tooled-and-margined stone; parapets and abutments coursed stone. South end higher than north. Elliptical arch and smaller round arch to north, with triangular cutwater between carried up to level of impost band, which is continued along broader abutments to pilaster linking with band below parapet. Parapet with sloped coping, canted to wider approach on south, terminates in square piers with low pyramidal coping.
