GV II
Formerly dower house for Mollington Hall, later farmhouse, now house: formerly dated 1684 with later C18 and mid C19 alterations and additions. Rough cast brick, Welsh slate roof and 2 brick chimneys. Originally of near double-pile plan. 2½-storey, 4-bay south front. 2nd and 4th bays have 12-pane sashes, the topmost ones in gabled half-dormers. 3rd bay has a pair of glazed doors in the original entrance, with 12-pane sash and setting for now lost datestone above. Left end bay and addition with projection on ground storey with 16-pane sash and 12-pane sash above. Entrance in left end with mid Cl9 gabled hood. Right end has a blocked 3-light rebated chamfered stone mullion window. Interior: Main rooms all have heavy ceiling beams and moulded plaster cornices, partly original late C17. Extension to rear has old dairy with slate staging and a 4-board door with iron strap hinges. Old cellar with stone steps.
