11/27 Bridge, next to Fishing Cottage II
Road bridge over the River Anton. 1843. A cast-iron structure made by the local firm of Taskers. There is a double span, and the slab rests on 8 beams, formed as arched frames, with decorative diminishing circles in the spandrels (exposed on the outer faces), resting on cast plates (with panelled decoration), with splayed plates at each end as abutments. The keys at the top of each curve has cast lettering ... "Tasker 1843..." above a rosette. Each junction supports a moulded slender column, and between them are 3 horizontal rails.
