GV II

Formerly farmhouse, later 3 cottages, now a house: mid C16, cross-wing dated 1601 with some C20 alterations and additions. Timber framed on stone plinth, wooden shingle roof and brick ridge chimney. Plan of cross passage behind stack with parlour wing added. 2-storey, 3-bay front. Left end bay under gable has heavy small framing with C20 3-light casements with glazing bars, the upper one in a coved jetty with painted date. Remainder is close studded with middle rail, has similar windows, 2 blocked doorways and a dormer. Interior: Main room to left from cross passage through 4-centred headed doorway and by heck post and screen. Fire beam is covered by bead moulds, and inside inglenook is a blocked 3-light wood mullioned window. Parlour has deeply chamfered ceiling beam with a tongue stop. Wind-braced purlins upstairs.
