Details
CORFE CASTLE KINGSTON HILL (East side) SY 95 79 6/97 The Old Vicarage (formerly listed as The Vicarage) including attached stables 20.11.59 at rear II Former vicarage, now private house. Mid-C19. Ashlar stone walls, stone slate roofs with coped gables, octagonal ashlar stacks with moulded caps. In Gothic Revival style. 2 storeys. Main elevation has slightly projecting gable on left. This has a 2-storeyed canted bay window, with stone mullioned and transomed windows with lead lights on each floor. Moulded string course at head of ground floor windows, and hipped stone slate roof. Deep moulded plinth to gable, and lower moulded plinth to whole frontage. In right section, a 4-centred moulded arched doorway to an inner porch, with part-glazed inner door. One stone mullioned window with lead lights on ground floor and 2 on first floor. At rear, 2 parallel gabled projections, with wide valley gutter. Walls here part plastered. Lean-to extension at end of right projection with concrete tiled roof. At rear of house, linked to it by a garden wall, a former stable block, now used as garages. Rubble stone walls, stone slate roof. L-shaped plan with gabled projection at left end. 2 pairs of timber double garage doors, one with loft door over. 2 casements with lead lights.
