II

Pair of cottages; c.1500, altered and extended early C19. 2 storeys; 3 windows (Salinda Cottage) and 2 windows (The Cottage). Timber-framed and rough-cast rendered. Slated roof with axial chimneys of red brick. C19 2- light windows with wrought iron small-pane casements, some with hood-moulds. 4- panelled entrance doors (at The Cottage, having a hood-mould with drop- finials). A 3-cell open hall house; the 2-bay hall retains, blocked, its unglazed mullioned window at the front. The parlour block to left has its lodged 1st floor structure exposed and the former end wall with unglazed window beneath the eaves of the half-hipped roof. 1st floor and chimney stack inserted into hall c.1600. The building was extended at both ends early C19, the old roof structure was replaced, and a conversion into a terrace of several cottages carried out.
