5/66 Ellastone Old House (Formerly listed as 10/1/53 "Bromley Arms Inn")
GV II*
House. Early to mid-C18. Ashlar; hipped clay tile roof; ashlar integral end stacks. L-shape plan; main house aligned north-south; service wing to rear; C18 extension to north. Main house to right and slightly lower rendered extension to left. Main house: 2 storeys and attic with moulded plinth coping and floor bands, that to attic storey moulded; framed by giant rusticated corner pilasters; 2-light mullioned windows with chamfered mullions and raised, moulded surrounds containing fixed lights and top opening glazing bar windows; Provincial Baroque doorcase, central 2-leaved panelled door, the upper 2 glazed, 2 flanked by Tuscan pilasters to cornice hood, approached by flight of stone steps of semi-circular plan; mounting block to left hand corner; moulded eaves cornice; central gabled dormer. Extension: 2 storeys; 3 windows; glazing bar sashes; single light window to ground floor left and to ground floor right; 2- light mullioned window to ground floor centre with chamfered mullion; C20 garage doors to left of centre and stable door to left of centre; coped verge and integral end stack to left. Interior: Inglenook fire place in front left hand room, exposed ceiling beams; straight flight staircase with winder, and turned balusters; roof trusses consist of curved principals with collar and double trenched purlins.
