Details
1. 5118 SISTON TOWER ROAD NORTH (off) The Summer House near Grimsbury School ST 6673 11/64 II 2. Mid-late C18 said to have been built by William Champion, brass founder, of Warmley House. In the form of a roughly square 2 storey crenellated tower built of black slag material with freestone window dressings and standing on the crown of an archway spanning Siston Brook. Recently enlarged and altered. Entrance elevation faces east. Door opening reached by flight of steps, modern. Two windows per floor of south front, glazing bar sashes with plain stone architraves and triple keys (door opening similar). North front painted and has central break with arched and keyed window, keyed oculus above, similar circular window on each side. The modern extensions to east and west mask the original house without spoiling its character.
