Details

KINVER C.P. HIGH STREET (East side) SO 8483-8583 15/88 No. 47 (formerly listed as Midland Bank Ltd Premises) 16.6.53 GV II House incorporating shop. Late C17 with external remodelling of the early C19, and further alterations of the early C20 and later. Timber framed with brick infill, now roughcast to the front; plain tile roof; brick integral end stack and internal lateral stack to the rear. 3-framed bays; rear wing added in the C19 to form an L-shape. 2 storeys and rear-lit attic. 3 windows, C19 casements to first floor and to ground floor, left; the former have leaded panes; early C19 bow window to ground floor right; early C20 shop front to ground floor centre, incorporating a glazed door. Early C19 six-panel door to right of centre, boarded door to left of centre, garage doors to left. Rear: exposed timber framing partly obscured by C20 ground floor extensions. Rectangular or square panels of unequal size with straight or curved braces. Interior: much exposed timber framing; stopped and chamfered ceiling beams; 4 late C17 roof trusses.
