SE 01NW RIPPONDEN (former U.D.) LONG CAUSEWAY, Rishworth SE 016182 Rishworth 5/78 Congregational Chapel (formerly listed as "Parrock 29.4.82 Nook Congregational Church under Oldham Road) GV II
Non-conformist chapel, 1832. Dressed stone with stone slate roof. 3 bays to front, symmetrical about entrance which has monolithic jambs and flat lintel surmounted by foliated cartouche lettered "INDEPENDENT UNION CHAPEL" with date. Above this is a round-headed window with marginal glazing, similar to the longer windows to either side. Under the eaves are 3 small rectangular openings, the outer glazed and the central one blind. Gutter brackets. Rear has outshut flanked by 2 round-headed windows. 2 small chimneys on left gable.
Interior: Retains early C19 fittings with panelled gallery, box pews; panelled pulpit on rostrum, small organ behind.
