The Old Bridge Inn 9/107 _
GV II
Public house, first recorded landlord John Hurstwood 1754. Exterior mid C18 with earlier features inside. Hammer dressed stone, rendered, stone slate roof. 2 storey wing with aisle or outshut on left hand return wall to left of long low single-storey range. All are flat faced mullioned windows. 4-light window with 3-light window over. Doorway with monolithic jambs at junction of wing in single-storey building which has two 3-light windows. Other altered windows. 4 stacks to ridge.
Interior: Wing preserves board and muntin oak panelled wall, probably C17 at junction of side-aisle. Low building has large cruck-truss with tie-beam, spur and yoke to apex, probably C16. An octagonal font discovered during excavations between inn and nearby church is preserved inside, maybe C16 belonging to earlier church whose site dates back to 1464.
