Details
BAMBURGH FRONT STREET NU 1834 (South side) 18/47 No. 23 (The Post Office) 22.12.69 GV II - Post Office. 1891. Ashlar with red-tiled roof. Gothick style in sympathy with adjoining houses. (cf Nos. 17-22 Front Street). Two storeys, 2 bays with central pointed-arched doorway. Flanking 2-light windows with arched heads to lights, and hoodmoulds. On 1st floor two 4-pane sashes with arched heads, dated 1891 over window to left, and inscribed Longstone Cottage over window to right. Left bay is cross-gabled; window to right in gabled half-dormer. Gabled roof with flat coping, kneelers and corniced end stacks.
